To My Husband

I think I've mentioned on more than one occasion how unromantic a couple Dean and I are, and just to cement this fact, here's the Christmas card I've made him this year...

Supplies: Stamps - Clearly Besotted 'Typed Alphabet', 'Be Merry' & 'Family Matters' / Tools - Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Standard Circles'

Dean on the other hand always presents me with the most over the top, super sized (needs a fork lift to deliver it!), overly embellished, so sentimental it should come with a box of tissues, card that he can find - must be a man thing ;)

I'm in shock that it's already Christmas Eve-Eve...how can my list of things to do still be so long?!!  May have to admit defeat this year and just shred it lol  I'm so pushed for time that I've cheated on my 'special cards' this year and just customised my mass produced design *hangs head in shame*...

Hope your preparations are progressing better than mine!  Only two more sleeps...

I can relate, Stephanie! My husband hasn't got a romantic bone in his body and even if he does try to be, it feels weird to me!

Your card is perfect for my husband too! ;)

Have a great Christmas!

Every card you make is special Stephanie! Dean's card may be VERY CAS, but at least he's GOT one. (I always forget to make Alan one)!
Have a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with much success. xxx

Stephanie, This year seems to have flown, AND we had a big wedding in the family in early December. I had so much fun helping my niece with some of the d├ęcor and wouldn't trade that for anything. But I woke up the day after the wedding realizing that I had only a little more than 2 weeks to prepare for Christmas and I had basically done nothing. This has been a year of figuring out what was really important, what could be crossed off and not missed, lots of online shopping, lots of gift cards. I made quick tags for the gifts instead of sending cards. Less baking. Simpler menu. Fewer gifts overall. I didn't make the family calendar I usually make. Here I sit at 12:30 AM on Christmas EVE. Tomorrow will be very busy but I think we will get it done. And I don't think the shortcuts and omissions will be a big deal.

I have been convicted that all the busy-ness and frantic preparations only obscure what Christmas really is. Convinced that more thought about and appreciation for the Reason for the season and less stress about my to-do list is the best way to prepare.
May you and yours have a purely Joyous Christmas.

Dear Stephanie

Merry Christmas to you and your whole family! I hope you find some quiet moments to spend to together.

80 cards is a HUGE number and the design on that card is very beautiful. The stamp set you used is also on my wish list... it seems my wish list never gets smaller *lol* but some unforeseen family matters kept me from ordering lately. But I look forward to 2015 to see what you will have for us.

Enjoy the holidays and take some time to rest and relax.

Kind regards
Carola

Hello, wonderful Stephanie, and belated Merry Christmas! Your card for Dean: perfect! My dad suffered a cardiac arrest on Dec. 20th, and has been on life-support since. Christmas has certainly taken on a much deeper meaning for us this year. During this time of sadness, please know that strolling through your blog has lifted my spirits more than you can possibly know. THANK YOU for sharing your creativity and 'snippets' of your life with us.
Hugs galore,
~c
